Industry insiders said they are targeting the expansion of high alumina coal production, with centralised combustion and fly ash accumulation, and called for new policies to ensure a stable high alumina coal supply to power plants in proximity of coal mines.
The aim of the project, which cost Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 30bn ($4.9bn*), is to construct a coal mine with a capacity of 10m tpa, a captive coal thermal power generation plant and a 1.2m tpa alumina refinery with production from coal fly ash.
Nabaltec's technical ceramics business unit, which supplies speciality alumina products to the technical ceramic and refractory industry, posted 2.7% lower revenues in Q2, to U10.9m, compared with the same period in 2013.
