    En el régimen de los Jemeres Rojos la lengua y el lenguaje fueron profundamente afectados, lo que puso en peligro tanto las referencias simbólicas del sujeto como su capacidad de subjetivación. Pero los sujetos resisten, en cualquier época y en cualquier lugar, y el humor como confrontación con el agujero en el significante fue su herramienta. Al lenguaje convertido en una serie de eslóganes el pueblo respondió mediante contra-eslóganes, única arma de estos sujetos desposeídos de todo para luchar y para tratar el goce, para hacerlo pasar al significante tratando al Otro, la maldad del Otro.

    The Khmer Rouge regime greatly affected language and language registers, a fact that jeopardized both the subjects' symbolic references and their capacity for subjectivation. However, subjects resist, everywhere and at all times, and humor, as a confrontation with the void of the signifier, was their tool. In the face of a language that had been transformed into a series of slogans, the people responded with counter-slogans, the only weapon available to these disenfranchised subjects in order to struggle and deal with jouissance, to turn it into a signifier by dealing with the Other, the evilness of the Other.
