    Resumen: En la noche oscura de la Edad Media -llamada así por algunos pensadores-, surge una luz que al día de hoy no se ha apagado, que tiene mucha vida por delante: Es Santo Tomás de Aquino. Ha sido el más grande y principal comentarista de Aristóteles, quien en su labor intelectual sólo utilizó su inteligencia, la luz natural de la razón. En cambio, Sto. Tomás tuvo un plus: la fe como buen teólogo. Al tratar de ubicarlo en el terreno de la Filosofía del derecho, uno se da cuenta que manejó conceptos políticos y jurídicos, como son: la ley y el derecho natural, la ley en general, el bien común, la justicia, con tal precisión y claridad, que su contribución a la Filosofía del derecho es invaluable e innegable.

    Abstract: During the dark night of the Middle Ages -so named by certain historiansshone a light so bright that it is yet to fade away. It is the light of Saint Thomas Aquinas. He is the greatest and most important of Aristotle's commentators. In his philosophical endeavors, Aristotle made use of his great intellect, the natural light of Reason. However, Saint Thomas had something extra that Aristotle lacked: his faith, the great faith of Aquinas the theologian. If we try to place his thought within the context of the Philosophy of Law, we quickly realize that Aquinas was adept at using political and juridical concepts, such as: law and natural right, law in general, the common good, and justice, among others. He handled the aforementioned concepts with such precision and clarity that his contributions to the philosophy of Law are invaluable and undeniable.
