    The Jewish Passover and Christian Easter are so different as one might think a priori? Through the application of Todd Holden’s (2001) concept of resignification in the biblical passages related to Easter, this paper attempts to demonstrate that the Christian and Jewish accounts are under the same structural background, to the extent that the major signifiers of Pessach are reinterpreted into the Christian Easter. To characterize the documents, we will address the issues about formation and transmission of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, as well as the rite, narratives and signifiers that compound the Jewish Passover and the Christian Easter, as well as a discussion of why the first can be designated as myth, while the second is considered a memory.

    Páscoa judaica e cristã são tão distintas quanto pode-se pensar a priori? Através da aplicação do conceito de ressignificação de Todd Holden (2001) às passagens bíblicas relacionadas à Páscoa, este trabalho intenta demonstrar que os relatos cristãos e judaicos estão sob um mesmo pano de fundo estrutural, na medida em que os principais significantes do Pessach são ressignificados pela Páscoa cristã. Para situar a documentação, serão abordadas questões acerca da formação e transmissão da Bíblia hebraica e do Novo Testamento, assim como o rito, narrativas e significantes que compõem o Pessach judaico e a Páscoa cristã, bem como uma discussão de por que a primeira pode ser designada como mito, enquanto a segunda é considerada memória.
