In this work a type of comparison between faunal remains and animal iconography has been proposed for the Vaccean and Celtiberian areas, and using the chi2 test. These two areas are exceptional for this type of studies due to the high number of animal representations found in them and the two ecosystems present: mountains and plateau. At the expense of new studies with larger and more defined samples, we expose the interesting points of this type of comparison for the study of how animals were perceived by these Iron Age societies.
