    Los filósofos de la Antigüedad Clásica reflexionaron en múltiples ocasiones sobre el conocimiento y el cuidado de sí, como condiciones básicas para una buena vida. Este artículo cuestiona la validez de tales conceptos en la actualidad, así como las características que definen una buena vida en el siglo XXI. Para esto, se analiza el papel de la celebridad, y el poder que estas personas tienen para influenciar comportamientos entre sus seguidores. Como caso paradigmático, se observa a Gwyneth Paltrow, y su sitio de estilo de vida, Goop. A partir de casos como el suyo, se describe una forma de cuido de sí que se preocupa por las prácticas, pero no por el auto conocimiento.

    Classical Era philosophers reflected on multiple times on the knowledge and care of the self, as basic conditions for leading a good life. This article questions the validity of such concepts in the present time, while pondering what defines a good life in the 21st century. To achieve this, the article analyzes the role of celebrities, and the power these people wield as influencers over their followers’ behaviors. Gwyneth Paltrow and her lifestyle site Goop are observed as a paradigmatic case. Cases like this one allow us to depict a way of caring for oneself that is concerned about the practices, but not about the knowledge of the self.
