El concepto de gesto musical remite a una concepción holística, por la que los materiales armónicos, melódicos, rítmicos y métricos, junto con las indicaciones de tempo, de articulaciones, de dinámicas y tímbricas, interactúan en un todo indivisible. Esta concepción holística se erigirá en el marco perceptual a través del cual abordaremos el concepto de gesto musical, entendido como una continuidad discursiva que adquiere significación. A partir de estas consideraciones, el estudio de la interacción de los materiales musicales en su dimensión gestual se articulará tanto en el nivel de las estructuras más pequeñas (motivo, frase, figura, textura) como en el de los comportamientos procesuales y formales (tema, secciones, tópicos). De esta forma, estudiaremos aspectos de la significación intrínseca a la obra musical (a partir del comportamiento de la interacción de los materiales musicales) para arribar a su contenido expresivo y metafórico, y a supertenencia social.

The concept of musical gesture refers to a holistic conception, where the harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and metric materials, together with indications of tempo, joints, dynamics and timbres interact in the quite indivisible one. This holistic conception will be raised in the perceptual frame in which we will address the concept of musical gesture, understood as a discursive continuity that acquires meaning. From these considerations, the study of the interaction of musical materials in their gestural dimension will be articulated both at the level of the smallest structures (motive, phrase, figure, texture) and at the level of procedural and formal behaviors (theme, sections, topics). In this way, we will study aspects of the intrinsic significance of a musical piece of work (from the behavior of the interaction between the musical materials) to arrive at its expressive, metaphorical, symbolic content and its social belonging.
