Resumen de La representación del pasado en los discursos de los presidentes venezolanos: José Tadeo Monagas,Rómulo Betancourt y Hugo Chávez

  Este artículo analiza las representaciones que sobre el pasado ofrecen José Tadeo Monagas, Rómulo Betancourt y Hugo Rafael Chávez. Se seleccionan estos tres mandatarios porque cada uno de ellos inició una etapa que se distingue de la anterior desde el punto de vista político e ideológico. La investigación se realizó a partir del análisis de contenido de los discursos presidenciales, lo que permitió el conteo de los atributos asignados al pasado y la ubicación de las relaciones lógicas entre los referentes/personajes y los atributos que le son asignados. Como resultados del análisis se encuentran unos referentes y atributos asignados exclusivamente a algunos mandatarios, pero también, algunos comunes a las representaciones ofrecidas por los tres gobernantes. Las coincidencias permiten inferir que las tres visiones del pasado guardan una semejanza considerable y que las representaciones sociales construidas por estos tres presidentes sobre el pasado forman parte de las representaciones colectivas presentes en la sociedad venezolana.

  This article analyzes the representations of the past offered by Jose Tadeo Monagas, Romulo Betancourt and Hugo Rafael Chavez. We select these three leaders because each of them began a stage that differs from the previous one, from the political and ideological point of view. The research was conducted from content analysis of presidential speeches, which allowed the counting of attributes assigned to the past and the location of the logical relationships between the characters/referents and the attributes assigned to them. The study found some referents and attributes assigned exclusively to some presidents, but also referents and attributes common to the representations offered by the three leaders.

  The coincidences allow us to infer that the views of the past of the three leaders keep a considerable similitude, and that the social representations built about the past by these three Presidents are part of collective representations present in Venezuelan society.
