  • The article discusses research into the formation of memories in the brain. Researchers used fluorescent probes to monitor neurons in the amygdalas region of the midbrain of mice. The study revealed that the protein CREB was active in a fifth of the mice's midbrain neurons. Researcher Sheena Josselyn suggests that neurons battle each other to form memories.
