  • The article discusses a technique using pulsars to measure gravitational waves. The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) uses super sensitive microphones to detect waves. Waves emanating from black holes will change the timing of pulses from pulsars if they pass by it. The theory of relativity states that gravitational waves vibrate at right angles to the direction of their source but astrophysicists believe the technique would reveal different vibrational patterns.
