  • This article provides statistics related to the economic impact of services provided by insects on the U.S. economy. The value of crops pollinated by insects in $3 billion. $4.5 billion worth of crop losses from predation are averted by beneficial insects. 65% of native pests are controlled by other insects and, each year, $50 billion is spent for hunting, fishing, and observing wildlife that relies on insects as a food source.
