This article reports on Advanced Telecommunications Research (ATR) and Honda Research Institute Japan's joint project to create a novel brain-machine interface. They've come up with a robotic hand that can read human brains, using data on changes in blood flow collected by functional magnetic resonance imaging of the brain, and shape itself to reproduce the configuration of a human hand.
