  • Resumen
    • This article explores the use of renewable energy sources--including the use of solar cells, wind turbines, and biofuels--as an alternative to fossil fuels, which generate large quantities of carbon dioxide. Renewable energy sources are becoming popular again due to advances in technology, and could soon become large contributors to global energy. In order for this to happen, the article claims, the U.S. must significantly increase its research and development spending to hasten the transition. The article suggests that the U.S. levy a fee on carbon to reward clean energy sources over those that harm the environment. INSETS: PLUGGING HYBRIDS;THE LEAST BAD FOSSIL FUEL.
