  • The article reports that methamphetamine abuse is growing in the United States. From the drug's first appearance among biker gangs on the West Coast in the 1960s, it has spread across the country. Methamphetamine can be made easily using over the counter pseudoephedrine or ephedrine medications, lye and rubbing alcohol. The drugs causes debilitating, week-long binges and severe dependence.
