  • The article discusses the accuracy of GPS equipment and the use of hybrid technologies to augment existing receivers. The precision for current GPS receivers and the improvements expected for the next generation of satellites and receivers are described. The author explains and illustrates the advantages of hybrid receivers that use signals from other types of transmitters to augment their accuracy in areas where the incoming satellite GPS signal is blocked by surrounding buildings.
