  • This article discusses a research partnership formed between the geneticists David M. Gardner, S. Randal Voss, and Roche Palo Alto LLC. Roche will sequence one million base pairs of salamander DNA for Voss and Gardner to demonstrate their high speed sequencing technology. The Salamander DNA will be used to develop an explanation of the molecular processes by which salamanders regenerate their limbs, a process that involves stem-cell like cellular processes.
