  • This article discusses the experimental development of a modified form of butyrylcholinesterase, a blood protein that breaks down cocaine in the blood stream. The potential use of this protein to treat cocaine addictions and overdoses is considered. The results of experiments testing the efficacy of this drug when administered to mice are described.
