The article presents an overview of research being conducted in 2008 by Matt Friedman of the Field Museum in Chicago, Illinois. Friedman's research , which is being conducted on 50 million tear old flat fish fossils, is being conducted in an effort to discover why a visual metamorphosis in halibut and other types of flat fish occurs.
