  • The article reports that a 10 percent reduction in the use of water for farm irrigation would save more water than is used by all other consumers put together. Methods for reducing the amount of water used in agriculture, such as genetically modifying crops to withstand less moisture and storing water underground to limit evaporation, are recommended.
