Los republicanos de Gijón fundaron varios periódicos para difundir su mensaje político. El siguiente artículo analiza los distintos títulos de su prensa, así como sus tendencias y controversias. Ello se hace sin descuidar el contexto del republicanismo local, el marco más amplio en el que éste se inserta y los condicionantes de la polémica portuaria.

Republicans in Gijón founded several newspapers in order to spread their political message. This article analyses the different newspapers in the town as well as their tendencies and controversies. The analysis will not overlook the local republicanism in which these are contextualized, and it will also take into account the wider context as well as the circumstances of the controversy around the construction of the port.
