    The object of this study is to the present the Church as a just society. To that end, we analyse the passages from Vatican II that mention the concepts of justice, mercy, and equality, not just with reference to the world but also to the inner life of the Catholic Church. Thus, we pay special attention to the reception of these texts in the 1983 Code of Canonical Law. In particular, we make a critical analysis of CIC83, bringing out the positive aspects as well as the shortcomings of justice in the Church. Finally, we reflect on the present situation as well as the outlook for the future.

    L’objectiu d’aquest estudi és presentar l’Església com a societat justa. Per això analitzem els passatgesdel Concili Vaticà II que fan referència als conceptes de justícia, misericòrdia i equitat no nomésdavant el món, sinó també en la vida interior de l’Església Catòlica. Així mateix, dediquem una especialatenció a la recepció d’aquests textos en el Codi de Dret Canònic de 1983, en particular fem unaanàlisi crítica del CIC83, tot indicant els aspectes positius i les carències de la justícia en l’Església.Finalment, oferim una reflexió sobre la situació actual i les perspectives de futur.
