    En Colombia es difícil acceder, dentro de ambientes clínicos cotidianos, a pruebas instrumentales que permitan al evaluador determinar con veracidad la presencia de deglución atípica, siendo éstas, además, poco o nada perdurables en el tiempo. El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la eficiencia y eficacia del uso de GLUMAP en el diagnóstico de deglución atípica y adaptada, como  prueba alternativa a las técnicas convencionales. La investigación contó con la participación de 12 sujetos, entre los 11 y los 25 años, quienes utilizaron las placas de GLUMAP en tres oportunidades diferentes. Los datos fueron analizados bajo términos porcentuales y un análisis multivariado estadístico. A pesar de que a partir del uso de GLUMAP no se puede determinar un solo criterio de comportamiento del gel en personas con deglución atípica, este instrumento permite medir de manera objetiva, el comportamiento lingual dentro de la cavidad oral tras las funciones deglutorias, por lo cual puede ser considerada como una herramienta complementaria dentro de la práctica clínica fonoaudiológica, sumado al hecho que permite hacer un seguimiento del tratamiento y determinar la eficacia del mismo.

    Within everyday clinical setting in Colombia, it is difficult to access instrumental tests that allow the evaluator to truthfully determine the presence of atypical swallowing as these are sporadic and rarely permanents over a long period of time. The investigation’s objective was to determine the efficiency and efficacy of GLUMAP, as an alternative to conventional testing techniques, in diagnosing atypical and adapted swallowing. Theresearch involved the participation of 12 subjects between 11 and 25 years old, who used GLUMAP plates, three times each. Data were analyzed on a percentage basisand a statistical multivariate analysis. Although from the use of GLUMAP cannot determine a single criterion of gel behavior in people with atypical swallowing, one top of the fact that it allows professionals to track and determine treatment efficacy, this instrument can objectively measure the lingual behavior within the oral cavity after deglutition functions and therefore can be considered as a complementary tool in clinical practice
