En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, las relaciones políticas, económicas y culturales entre Portugal y España fueron frecuentemente abordadas a través de una vasta bibliografía producida desde ambos lados de la frontera.
Una de las vertientes de la relación entre ambos países y que consideramos más interesante son los viajes frecuentes de intelectuales a estos países. Nos interesan, por lo tanto, los textos de los viajeros portugueses que visitaron España en el último cuarto del siglo XIX

A vast number of works produced in Portugal and Spain during the second half of the 19th century frequently described the political, economic and cultural relations between the two countries. One of the most interesting aspects depicted are the frequent journeys by Portuguese and Spanish intellectuals – amongst others – between both Iberian countries. This article focuses specifically on the texts by Portuguese travellers through Spain during the last quarter of the 19th century.
