Se propone un análisis de la lectura y loslectores de la revista Caras y Caretasdurante el año 1916, momento de cambiosen el sistema electoral y político deArgentina, en tanto que en ese año secelebra la primera elección presidencialbajo la Ley Sáenz Peña. Se intenta estableceruna interpretación de las representacionesque ofrece la revista sobresus lectores, a objeto de indagar en susámbitos de recepción y prácticas de lectura.Roger Chartier (1995, 2005), NéstorGarcía Canclini (1989) y Beatriz Sarlo(1988, 2011), son algunos de los autoresque soportan teórica y metodológicamenteeste trabajo que se circunscribe auna amplia investigación en curso.

The article proposed an analysis ofreading and readers of the magazineCaras y Caretas during the year 1916,moment of changes in the electoral andpolitical system of Argentina because thecountry celebrated the first presidentialelection under the Sáenz Peña Law. Thestudy tries to make an interpretation ofthe representations that the magazineoffers its readers in order to investigatetheir areas of reception and readingpractices. Roger Chartier (1995, 2005),Néstor García Canclini (1989) y BeatrizSarlo (1988, 2011) are some of the authorswho support this work theoreticallyand methodologically that is all aroundextensive research in progress.
