    En l’Evangelii Gaudium, es dedica un capítol a la «renovació de l’Església»: «Somio amb una opciómissionera que pot transformar-ho tot...», escriu el Papa. El catolicisme, per la seva història, no té pordel vertigen de la globalització, sinó que es proposa per l’home l’estabilitat global de la família, laciutat i la comunitat. El cristianisme viu la història global, no se n’escapa. No són els valors tradicionals,sinó l’humanisme amb el què es pot fer front al vertigen de l’economia global. Per viure aquestarealitat, antiga i nova, s’ha de conrear una espiritualitat evangèlica i conciliar «La vella història delsamarità —deia Pau VI al final del Concili Vaticà II— va ser un paradigma de l’espiritualitat del Concili.Un sentiment de simpatia sense límits ho ha impregnat tot».

    In the Evangelii Gaudium there is a chapter devoted to ‘renewal in the Church’: “Somio amb una opció missionera que pot transformar-ho tot...”, writes the Pope. Throughout its history Catholicism has shown that it is not afraid of the vertiginous nature of globalisation, rather it advocates the global stability of the family, the city and the community. Far from escaping from global history, Christianity puts it into practice. There are no traditional values here but rather humanism and its possibility for facing up to the bewildering aspects of the global economy. In order for this reality, both ancient and new, to be lived it is necessary to develop an evangelical and conciliar spirituality. As the Pope said at the end of the Second Vatican Council: “The old story of the Samaritan was a paradigm for the spirituality of the Council. A feeling of boundless shared humanity pervaded it through and through”.
