La X Assemblea del Consell Mundial d’Esglésies, celebrada el noviembre de 2013 a Busan (Coreadel Sud) ha fet un balanç del treball ecumènic des de l’Assemblea de Porto Alegre (2006). Va aprobarun important document de consens sobre la missió i l’evangelització. Posà l’accent en enfortirles relacions amb les confessions que no són membres del Consell, com són ara l’Església Catòlicai els pentecostals. Va aprobar dotze declaracions sobre temes de gran actualitat social i política.Redimensionà la propia estructura i finalitats a fi d’adaptar-les als nous temps ecumènics i a la greucrisis económica que també afecta al CME. Decidí enviar a totes les confessions cristianes undocument treballat durant vint anys per «Fe i Constitució» anomenat «L’Església: cap a una visiócomú». Es tracta d’un text de consens que defineix l’objectiu central de l’ecumenisme, que és laconcepció comú sobre l’església. Totes les esglésies estan cridades a reaccionar i donar la seva opinió.

The 10th Assembly of the World Council of Churches, which was celebrated in November 2013 in Busan (South Korea), made an evaluation of the ecumenical work undertaken since the Assembly in Porto Allegre (2006). It gave its approval to an important consensus document on mission and evangelization. It stressed the need to strengthen relations with the denominations that are not members of the Council, such as the Catholic Church and the Pentecostals. It agreed 12 declarations on very topical social and political themes. It reconfigured it own structure and goals in order to be better adapted to the new ecumenical climate and the serious economical crisis which also affects the WCC. It decided to send to all the Christian denominations a document that had been 20 years in the making by the Faith and Order Commissioncalled “The Church: Towards a Common Vision” . It is an agreement that defines the central objective of ecumenism, which is a common notion of the church. All churches are invited to respond and give their opinion.
