    Am Beispiel des um 1600 entstandenen Meisterliedes Wolfhart Spangenbergs vom Martyrium der frühchristlichen Heiligen Biblis untersucht der vorliegende Aufsatz eine zweifache Transformation der Märtyrerlegende: zunächst die religiöse Transformation des legendarischen Erzählens in der Reformation, außerdem aber die poetische Transformation eines solchen Stoffes in den spezifischen Kommunikations- und Interaktionszusammenhang des nachreformatorischen Meistergesangs. Damit leistet er einen Beitrag zu einer noch ausstehenden, umfassenden Pragmatik des Meistergesangs

    This article examines a twofold transformation of the martyr legend, using Wolfhart Spangenberg’s Meisterlied (‘master song’) on the martydom of the early Christian St. Biblis, composed around 1600, as an example. It considers firstly the religious transformation of the legendary narrative in the Reformation, and then the poetic transformation of such material for the specific context of communication and interaction in the Meistergesang of the post-Reformation period. The article thus makes a contribution to a comprehensive pragmatics of the master song, which is still outstanding
