El artículo trata el motivo de la belleza como clave de comprensión del movimiento vital hacia la unidad. Pone en diálogo dos materiales: la matriz de interpretación de la filosofía tomista y el cuento maravilloso de carácter folklórico, con el objeto de valorar la influencia de la belleza en la formación de la figura del héroe y establecer su función como causa ordenadora.
La belleza en tanto pulchrum, principio metafísico de los entes, se muestra como anticipación de bien y de verdad y genera un apetito de búsqueda y posesión, alrededor del cual el cuento señala una pedagogía de carácter absoluto

The article deals with the motive of beauty as the key to understand the vital movement towards unity. Two materials are in dialogue: the matrix of interpretation of Thomistic philosophy and the wonderful story of folk character, in order to assess the influence of beauty in the formation of the hero and to establish its role as an ordering cause.
Beauty, as pulchrum, a metaphysical principle of beings, is shown as an anticipation of good and truth and generates a search of appetite and possession, around which the story signals a pedagogy of an absolute character
