  • The article presents an overview of developments in breast cancer research. Improved screening techniques, including digital mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and genetic screening, have led to earlier detection in many cases, improving chances for survival. More targeted surgical and radiological procedures and increasingly sophisticated chemotherapy drugs have also helped to increase the rate of successful outcomes.
