  • The article discusses an artificial enzyme that removes a proton from a carbon atom. The enzyme was created to make synthetic biological components. Researchers at the University of Washington, the University of California at Los Angeles and the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, used a computational model to devise potential enzymes made from 200 amino acids.
