  • This article discusses the effect that a military conflict in space would have on the Earth and its atmosphere. The article reports that the speed of even minuscule particles of orbiting space debris can damage and destroy satellites and spacecraft. A nuclear detonation in space would destroy most orbiting electronics systems and create massive setbacks in communication, navigation, and other satellite services. The article also provides an illustration to show the projected effect.
