This article reports on the status of bluefin tuna and the challenges the species faces related to overfishing and a decreasing population. The popularity of bluefin tuna as food, such as sushi, has increased and there are not enough regulations in place to protect the fish from eventual extinction. The article also discusses efforts being made to protect bluefin tuna, as well as the development of captive breeding farms to domesticate them. INSET: A WORLDWIDE DEPREDATION.
