  • This article reports on prediction markets that have been created as a result of the Iowa Electronic Market, which uses economic theory to predict election outcomes. Events that users can trade securities on include a Chinese moon landing, genetic engineering of DNA, snowfall in New York City's Central Park, and Avian flu transmission. These markets are presented by Foresight Exchange, Intrade, and the Avian Influenza Prediction Market.
