  • The article reports on new genetic information suggesting modern humans reproduced with their ancestors. In a region of the X chromosome called RRM2P4, researcher Murray Cox found evidence of a genetic divide. This fuels debate over whether modern humans left Africa in a single unified wave or in multiple waves interbreeding with the more primitive homo erectus along the way.
