• This article reports on the development of direct-energy systems and the feasibility of using ground-based laser beams against satellites. The article discusses how high-powered lasers could target orbiting objects and blind, disable, or destroy them. Cost estimates for ground-based lasers, space-based lasers, and space-based microwave radiators are also provided.
