This article presents the results of a study of four fisheries that concluded that reducing fishing yields in the short term increases fishing profits in the long term. The reasoning behind this is that as fish become more plentiful it costs less to catch them. The researchers say that the people who reduce their catch to build the schools can be the only ones who participate in the fishing when the numbers increase.
