  • This article presents reprints of columns from the magazine of 1858, 1908 and 1958. The February 1958 article reports on the splitting of atoms by Otto Hahn and how governmental policy towards applied research has harmed the running of academic discovery. In the February 1908 reprints, the issue focused on sportsmen and included an article by Wilbur Wright on flying as a sport. The 1858 issue reports on an early cold steam engine.
