  • Resumen
    • The article discusses the legacy of Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus, also known as Carl Linné and Caroli Linnaei, who proposed the standard Latinate genus-species system of taxonomic binomial nomenclature used by scientists to label living things. The year 2007 was the tricentennial of Linnaeus's birth. It is noted that he sometimes used the names of people he disliked to create the official names of unattractive and foul-smelling plants.
