This article reports on the construction of pipettes that can dispense incredibly tiny amounts of liquids. Physicists Peter W. Sutter and Eli A. Sutter have made a pipette that can release a droplet that is measured in a unit a thousand times smaller than before, called a zeptoliter, which is a sextillionth of a liter. Research in Japan and England has allowed physicists to improve the accuracy of measurement in quantum metrology.
