  Celestina cuestiona los estereotipos medievales de belleza y fealdad, rompiendo esta dicotomía debido a la inaccesibilidad del estándar estético ideal prescrito para las mujeres. Al mismo tiempo, este ensayo explora la conexión entre belleza y virginidad y cómo Celestina, con sus remedios de belleza y su reparación de hímenes, puede fingir ambas, revelando por tanto su naturaleza artificial.

  Celestina questions the medieval stereotypes of beauty and ugliness, shattering this dichotomy by exposing the unattainability of the standard esthetic ideal prescribed for women. At the same time, this essay explores the connection between beauty and virginity and how Celestina, with her beauty remedies and hymen mending, can fake both, thus unveiling their artificial nature.
