The article reports on the failure of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM) on the campus of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to attract big-ticket donors to support the institution in Los Angeles County, California. The entertainment industry has been lax in its support of the visual arts despite a number of committed collectors. In fact, a general lack of philanthropy continues to plague the operations of the museum in spite of the celebrity-studded opening party for BCAM.
