El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto de un Programa Nacional de Activación Física Escolar (PNAFE) sobre el Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC) y la aptitud física. La metodología empleada incluyó una muestra de 502 escolares entre 8 y 13 años de edad de ocho escuelas públicas, divididos en un grupo de intervención (n=287) y uno de control (n=215). Al primero se implementó el PNAFE por seis meses y a ambos se les evaluó mediante pre y post test el IMC y la aptitud física. Los resultados mostraron que el grupo intervenido presentó una disminución del IMCz y obesidad, así como un aumento de la fuerza en piernas (p‹0.005). No se mostraron cambios significativos en el IMC, porcentaje de sobrepeso y la función cardiorrespiratoria en el grupo intervenido ni en el grupo control. El Programa de Activación Física Escolar logró modificar favorablemente el IMCz, el porcentaje de obesidad y el aumento de la fuerza en piernas de los escolares.
The objetive of this study was to evaluate the effect of a Program National Physical Activation School of the Body Mass Index (BMI) and fitness. The methodology included: a sample of 502 students between 8 and 13 years old in eight public schools. And an intervention group was divided (n=287) and a control (n=215), the first was implemented the PNPAS for six months and both were assessed by pre and post test BMI and physical fitness. The results showed that the intervention group showed a decrease of BMIz and obesity and increased strength in legs. (p‹0.005). They showed no significant changes in BMI, percentage of overweight and cardiorespiratory function in the intervention group or the control group. Physical Activation Program School managed to favorably modify the BMIz , the percentage of obesity and increased strength in the legs of studentes.
