  • The a. publishes a military diploma dated January 7 224, which was discovered years ago near Pozzuoli; it concerns a miles of cohortes urbanae, native of Puteoli. This new diploma is of particular interest not only for its rarity (so far only eight diplomas are known for urbaniciani), but also for the grant to the veteran of the ius conubii with peregrinae even after the Constitutio Antoniniana; this poses the problem of explaining the persistent value of the privilege.
