The Author analyses some constitutiones (only rescripta, epistulae and decreta) promulgated by emperor Septimius Severus between 193 and the late 197 A.D. These acts show the primary role played by trial in his legislation and they allow the interpreter to go through the main features of his legislative and judiciary policy
