    To comprehend the spatial and interannual variability in the precipitation of the Ardèche, the method of multivariate factor analysis is applied to a matrix of 33 annual totals of précipitation (1960-1992) at 30 stations. Two regional factors are revealed ; the first is a dependance of the distance from the Rhône Valley ; the second dépends on the différence between a climate dominated by oceanic influences and one peculiar to the Cévennes. The paper shows how to classify the wetness of a given year according to the spatial distribution of the precipitation.

    Dans le but d'appréhender la variabilité spatiale et interannuelle des précipitations en Ardèche, on applique la méthode d'analyse factorielle en composantes principales au tableau de données constitué par les trente-trois totaux annuels de précipitations (1960 à 1992) de trente postes. Le résultat fait apparaître deux facteurs de différenciation régionale. Le premier met en valeur la distance à la vallée du Rhône. Le second contribue à identifier la frontière séparant climat à dominante océanique et climat à dominante cévenole. L'étude montre comment caractériser la pluviosité d'une année particulière selon sa distribution spatiale.
