Resumen de Cardiorespiratory arrest

Clive Weston, Omar Aldalati

  • Management of cardiorespiratory arrest is an essential skill to be acquired during core medical training. The requisite knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviours to allow competent and appropriate performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation are outlined in recently updated national guidelines. Successful resuscitation outcomes remain poor, but attention to detail is important to provide optimal recovery. Current guidelines emphasize the importance of minimizing interruption of chest compressions and prompt delivery of shock when the rhythm is shockable.
