La población de la parroquia Atahualpa del cantón Ambato Provincia de Tungurahua en Ecuador ha aumentado considerablemente y con ello también la cantidad de desechos orgánicos e inorgánicos que se originan; lo que ha ocasionado la acumulación de basura en los tachos y veredas de las calles de la parroquia.
El desconocimiento de los habitantes de la parroquia Atahualpa sobre el adecuado manejo de desechos tiene como consecuencia que no se los clasifique en orgánicos e inorgánicos, lo que ocasiona enfermedades y una acumulación innecesaria de basura al no aprovechar los usos alternativos de los desechos orgánicos. Aunque la Junta Parroquial busca implementar tachos recicladores en puntos estratégicos, de no haber una capacitación para los habitantes de la parroquia este proyecto sería inútil.
Por otra parte se identifica que la totalidad de los habitantes de los principales barrios de la parroquia Atahualpa están de acuerdo en recibir capacitaciones acerca del manejo adecuado de desechos el mismo que brindara beneficios tanto para los habitantes de la parroquia y para sus visitantes.
Por lo tanto es de suma importancia difundir la información suficiente y capacitar en lo concerniente sobre manejo de desechos para que el proyecto que se ha propuesto las autoridades locales se lleve a cabo.

The population of the Atahualpa parish in the Canton of Ambato Tungurahua Province in Ecuador has increased considerably and also the amount of organic and organic waste that originate; What has caused the accumulation of garbage in the pans and sidewalks of the streets of the parish.
The ignorance of the inhabitants of the Atahualpa parish about the management of the waste has the consequence that they are not classified in organic and inorganic, which causes diseases and an unnecessary accumulation of garbage not to take advantage of the alternative uses of the organic wastes. Although the Parish Board seeks to implement recycling bins at strategic points, if there is no training for the inhabitants of the parish this project is useless.
On the other hand, it is identified that the totality of the inhabitants of the main districts of the parish Atahualpa agree to receive training on the proper management of waste that provides benefits both for the inhabitants of the parish and for their visitors.
It is therefore of the utmost importance to disseminate sufficient information and train in the management of waste for the project that has been proposed by the local authorities to be carried out.
