  • This paper focuses on the adverb and the structure of adverb phrases; the characteristics, the use and the syntactic patterns. It has been generally accepted that the adverb modifies the verb; however there are many examples that describe another use and function of the adverbs, as well as the adverb phrases.

    We have analysed some examples, which were taken from RAE´s corpora, in which the adverb phrases can be distinguished from the adverbs.
