Resumen de Race vs Burden in Understanding Health Equity

Rachel R. Hardeman, Katy B. Kozhimannil, Eduardo M. Medina

  • To the Editor Dr Kindig discussed the concepts of rate and burden in terms of population health equity. We question several of the concepts put forth in his Viewpoint.1 Kindig’s proposition that the statistical burden of white health inequity has been underappreciated is problematic. We agree that it is unwise to ignore health burdens experienced by any population, but we reject any construct that pits poor white individuals against black individuals.
