Resumen de Registered Partnership, Same-sex Marriage and children: Crossing Borders
The purpose of this paper is twofold. Firstly, it presents the German law on life partnership and its numerous extensions required by the German Constitutional Court which, over and again, decided in favour of equal treatment of life partnership and marriage and thus figuratively crossed borders. Secondly, it looks at the legal consequences of same-sex couples literally crossing borden in addressing issues such as surrogacy in an international context and divorce of same-sex couples according to EU Private International Law, including the Brussels lla, Rome III and Succession Regulations.
